I received an offer of a position. Does it come with a benefits package?
We sent this question to the benefits office and here is their helpful reply. Note that the standard TA/GIA/Lecturer position is half-time (50%FTE) for 9 months.
"For Grad TA, IA and RA's - must be appointed 50% FTE for at least 4.5 months per fiscal year to qualify for employee insurance benefits. For all the positions, the best general place to highlight is our Texas State HR benefits page and then there are links under each topic. For example, there is a Summary of Benefits for faculty. There are also more details under the Retirement Programs section.
Information about the insurance programs available to employees.
Also, please feel free to reference our office if any of your candidates would like additional information or have questions about our benefits package. Details are on the bottom of the Summary of Benefits on how to contact us."
