PhD Program - Mathematics Education

Course requirements

This program requires 78 semester credit hours for students admitted with a bachelor's degree. Students entering with a master's degree in mathematics can request up to 24 credit hours of transfer course work to be approved by the dean of The Graduate College upon recommendation from the Ph.D. program director.

Students who do not have the appropriate background course work may be required to complete leveling courses.

These requirements may be reduced if the applicant shows evidence of taking equivalent courses elsewhere. Students are required to make up background courses if they do not have sufficient undergraduate mathematics. This background work must be completed before enrolling in graduate courses.
